The Multistate Bar Exam (MBE) is the multiple-choice portion of the bar exam tested in nearly every jurisdiction. The MBE is written by the NCBE and administered nationwide on the Wednesday exam day.
The MBE consists of 200 questions asked over six hours: 100 over a three-hour period in the morning, and 100 over a three-hour period in the afternoon. 190 of the 200 questions are graded; the remaining 10 are experimental and asked solely for evaluative purposes. Note that the experimental questions are indistinguishable from the graded questions.
The following subjects are tested on the MBE, and appear in the following question quantities: Constitutional Law (31), Contracts (33), Criminal Law and Procedure (31), Evidence (31), Real Property (31), and Torts (33).
All of the jurisdictions covered by MicroMash’s full or state reviews administer the MBE.
